I am looking for a hobby evaporator for 50 taps. My list includes the StarCat, TNT Light Duty Evaporator, Mason Hobby Evaporator, Sunrise Metal Evaporator, and the Evap-o-Grill by CDL. Does anyone have any experience or recommendations? I would like to improve the efficiency of my wood burning and increase the rate of evaporation. Currently I am using a cinderblock arch and two 18″ x 24″ pans. I would appreciate any feedback and suggestions. Thank you. Mike

    Hi Mike,

I think the best fit for you would be either a Starcat or an about to be released Dauntless Evaporator on a 20″x48″ Pan. Divided pan important to you?  Feel free to stop by our showroom Monday – Thursday 7:30AM – 4:30PM or by Appt. on Friday and Saturday. We have a Dauntless prototype up front.

My experience on a starcat is an easy 6-7 gallons per hour with the correct firewood.
